Why Professional Photography is Worth the Investment

January 12, 2025

Hi, I'm raechel
Hi I'm Raechel, welcome to the my corner of the internet where I get to share my heart. Here you'll be able to read all about my recent sessions, weddings, travels, and more.

In September 2024, I had the privilege of photographing Lexy and Q’s wedding, and recently, I received the sweetest review from them. 🥹💍

Here’s a snippet from Lexy’s kind words:
“There are so many photos that really mean SO much to us! All of the photos of my grandpa, in particular, really mean A LOT to me. It makes me so happy and makes me feel so close to him. The photos of my dad and grandpa at the table during the reception are so special. The photo of my grandpa taking a video of my dad and I’s first dance is seriously just too good, you really are so talented and filled with creativity! The photos of guests eating dinner and mingling outside and playing cornhole, this was the exact vibe we were going for and are so, so happy that it was all caught on film!! Wow!”

Hearing how much these moments meant to them reminds me of why I do what I do and why photography on your wedding day is SO important. Photography goes far beyond capturing beautiful images of the bride and groom (although I absolutely love those moments and will always treasure photographing them). It’s about freezing in time the connections, the laughter, and the emotions of everyone who comes together to celebrate. These photos become priceless memories—a way to feel close to loved ones and relive a day filled with so much joy.

Before their wedding day, Lexy shared something in an email that struck me deeply:
“One of my all-time favorite photos that I have seen on your portfolio was at The Glass House and it was a photo taken from outside of the greenhouse looking into the greenhouse in the evening. I particularly enjoyed this photo where the guests were eating dinner or dancing and your photo was taken from the outside. This photo brought me to tears and really made me fall in love with your work, as it felt so special to me! It feels as though that would be our late-loved one’s view of our wedding, as well, looking in.”

This heartfelt sentiment stayed with me throughout their wedding day. It reminded me of the deeper purpose behind wedding photography—capturing moments that hold meaning beyond what’s seen in the frame. Lexy’s vision of her late loved ones watching over her wedding resonated deeply, and I carried that thought with me as I worked to document their day.

Weddings are so much more than celebrations; they’re about togetherness. They’re a rare moment when all of your favorite people—family, friends, loved ones—gather in one place. It’s a time to celebrate love, honor connections, and create memories that last a lifetime. These photos become cherished reminders, serving as physical pieces of a story that can be shared with old and new friends for generations to come.

As I reflect on Lexy and Q’s wedding and the moments we captured together, I’m reminded of why I became a photographer. It’s about more than just beautiful photos; it’s about preserving the essence of a day that’s as unique as the couple themselves. Weddings aren’t about showing off—they’re about celebrating love and life with the people who matter most. And for me, getting to document those memories is the greatest honor.

I would love to be a part of capturing your legacy.
