Jenna and Braden’s couples session took place on a bright midday January afternoon at Al Sabo Land Preserve, one of my favorite natural locations in Southwest Michigan.
Even in the middle of winter, Al Sabo offers so much variety. Snow-covered trails, open wooded areas, and quiet moments that feel tucked away. The fresh snow reflected light beautifully, creating soft, even tones that worked perfectly for a midday session.
This session was relaxed, playful, and full of movement. We walked the trails, played in the snow, and leaned into moments that felt natural rather than overly posed. Jenna and Braden were completely themselves, laughing, interacting, and enjoying the experience together, which made the images feel honest and connected.
Midday winter sessions are often overlooked, but this one is a great example of why they work so well. The light is consistent, the scenery is clean and minimal, and the focus stays exactly where it should, on connection and emotion.
